The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research is a research facility supported by the Federal Republic of Germany, the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the Länder of Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony with around 1,400 employees. In a broad multidisciplinary approach, we conduct polar and marine research and, in conjunction with numerous university and non-university research institutions, make an important contribution to global environmental, earth system and paleoclimate research. We offer a qualified training in our Institute, which has been awarded several times by the IHK, and are looking for apprentices to become industrial mechanic:in (d/x/m/w) in Helgoland.

Industrial mechanics:inside, machines and manufacturing plants are ready for operation. You manufacture equipment parts, mechanical parts and groups and assemble them into machines and technical systems. You then set them up, put them into operation and check their functions. Their tasks include maintenance and maintenance of the plants. You determine fault causes, order suitable spare parts or manufacture them themselves and perform repairs. After completion of assembly and testing work, You instruct employees:inside or customer:into handling.
