The building and development planning office (BEP) is the central organizational unit of the University Hospital Freiburg for structural and operational developments. In order to strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced architect*in (m/w/d) to the complex hospital construction projects with a volume of more than 50 million. EUR independently manages and at the same time makes strong conceptual contributions in early phases of the project. The University Hospital Freiburg is one of the leading houses of maximum care in Germany. On over 700,000 m2 of gross floor area we realize highly complex hospital projects – from idea to clinical commissioning. The project management / contractor representation combines strategic project management with architectural quality, user orientation and enforcement power.

Total responsibility for construction projects > 50 million EUR – from phase 0 to clinical commissioning Development of sustainable conceptual designs in early project phases Translation of medical, nursing and operational user requirements into functional, economic and architecturally convincing solutions

Coordination of interfaces between architecture, interior design, TGA, medical technology, fire protection, authorities and clinic operation Control of project objectives with regard to appointment, quality and budget Contract management according to HOAI, VOB, AHO and VgV, incl. follow-up negotiations and coordination with the internal contract Stakeholder management with medicine, care, technology and administration Reporting to Steering Groups and Management Board on Budget, Risks, Decision Needs and Project Progress Important for the role: This place is not a design or design site. A strong building representation with architectural claim is sought: You develop resilient architectural responses to user questions in early stages, while at the same time taking responsibility for controlling large projects until clinical commissioning.
