About us The Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is one of the great German traditional universities with international reputation in research and research-based teaching and is the largest employer in South Lower Saxony. The Department of Finance and Controlling is responsible for internal and external accounting, central third-party funding management and the tax affairs of the university. It also provides financial tools and comprehensive information on university management.

The Head of Division reports directly to the Head of Division and is responsible for the entire range of funding and budgeting of the university with currently 20 qualified staff: Establishment and implementation of the economic plan Design of internal accounting and budget management Further development of internal financial reporting and financial control Administration of the University's third-party and special funds Cooperation with the Land of Lower Saxony in all budgetary matters Development, analysis and evaluation of financing concepts Participation in SAP implementation on SAP S/4-HANA as well as further digitization and change projects

Adjustment requirement is a completed academic degree (Diplom/Master) in economics, economic law or public management. A focus in finance, accounting, taxes or controlling is desirable. Ideally, you will bring relevant knowledge and experience in the areas of responsibility relevant to the field management as well as first leadership experience. If you have acquired this knowledge and experience in a university or an extra-university research institution, you would be helpful. Personally, you are characterized by analytical and strategic skills. You have the willingness to cooperate closely and trustfully with all areas of the university, the ability to target-group-oriented communication and understanding the processes of a university in academic self-governing. You also convince with creativity, commitment, motivation, decision-making strength and enforcement ability. Your team will guide you with a cooperative, trusting style that will support teamwork, ownership and joint decision-making.
