Setting date: at the next possible time Type of employment: Full-time Duration: unlimited Organizational unit: Kreisarchiv The district archive Viersen is responsible for the official tradition of the district as well as the county cities and municipalities of Brüggen, Grefrath, Kempen, Nettetal, Niederkrüchten, Schwalmtal, Tönisvorst and Viersen. In addition, the circular archive collects non-official documents such as photos, newspapers, AV media and documents from individuals, companies, associations, etc., in order to capture the regional history in its entirety and make it accessible to administration, research and the public. Since the end of 2022, the circular archive has been in a state-of-the-art construction in Viersen-Dülken. It has positioned itself as an out-of-school learning place and works with the schools in the district. The NS Documentation Centre for the district of Viersen was set up in the circular archive in 2025.

scientific research into the NS history in the district of Viersen, identification, biographical and prosopographic research of perpetrators, fellow-runners and victims of the NS dictatorship Conception and implementation of exhibitions, guided tours and scientific colloquia as well as the acquisition of suitable exhibitions of third parties to the area of responsibility of the NS Documentation Centre Presentation of the NS history in the form of publications, lectures, workshops and digital formats Participation in the archival educational program and public relations work scientific advice from users and the processing of requests from researchers, family members and interested parties Coordination of the work of the Advisory Board of the NS Documentation Centre
