We are an academic teaching hospital of the University Hospital Jena. Our 26 departments, institutes and 13 certified centers represent the entire range of medical services. Our Clinic for Pain and Palliative Medicine (recognized as the Landeszentrum Thüringen of the German Pain Society) has supra-regional acquaintance and provides patients with complex chronic pain syndromes inside. In the sense of modern pain treatment, we pursue a multimodal interdisciplinary treatment approach. It is important for us to consider our patients in a holistic way and to align our services to their individual needs. The Department of Pain Medicine has a total of 20 beds. Modern treatment methods allow to alleviate chronic pain. As a specialization, our clinic offers numerous interventional and surgical procedures for pain therapy (almost all interventional methods of neuromodulation or ablation other than deep brain and cerebral cortex stimulation). The applicant: in must have extensive experience in this area. In addition, complementary methods such as neural therapy and acupuncture are integrated into the therapy concepts. Patient care: In our department for palliative medicine with 10 beds, patients with advanced, progredient and life-limiting diseases are provided with a multi-professional team in the sense of a holistic, symptom-oriented treatment concept and hospital-wide through an internal palliative service.

Currently, our team consists of 7 specialist doctors, 2 psychologists with additional pain medical qualification, 2 Pain Nurses and a physiotherapist.

• broad multiannual experience in the field, in particular in interventional and surgical pain medicine
• Experience in a leading position would be desirable
