Carl Zeiss CMP GmbH is part of the global ZEISS manufacturing network and offers services for the development and production of opto-mechanical and optoelectronic modules components. The central core competence lies in the production of highly corrected spherical optics systems, which are used in particular in high-performance lenses of microscopy.

As a production line optics (m/w/x) you have the overall responsibility for the economic, quality and time-right production of high-precision optical components and systems – from optical production to final assembly. In this key role, you actively shape our manufacturing processes and ensure that quality, costs and delivery reliability are in line.

Your role

Total responsibility for series production and functional design of optical components and their assembly to optical assemblies and systems

Ensuring stable manufacturing and assembly processes while maintaining closest tolerances and highest optical quality requirements, including control of clean room processes

Responsibility for quality, cost and delivery, including KPI control (e.g. First Pass Yield, OEE, Committee Rate, OTD) and introduction and monitoring of suitable testing and measurement methods

Professional and disciplinary leadership of the production teams, including personnel planning, qualification, further development

Continuous improvement of manufacturing and assembly processes (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma), introduction of new technologies, automation, digitization and support in the industrialization of new products

Close cooperation with development, construction/engineering, quality assurance and Central Steering, in particular with product changes, complaints and series approaches

Responsibility for work safety, compliance with clean room regulations, environmental and compliance requirements and relevant quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001)

Complete technical studies (e.g. precision engineering, optics, mechanical engineering) or comparable qualification

Proven guidance experience in optical production or precision production

Knowledge of optical manufacturing processes (e.g. grinding, polishing, centering, coating), optical measurement technology as well as assembly and adjustment of optical systems

Experience in work preparation and production planning along the entire value chain

Safe handling of ERP/MES systems as well as experience in project management and transformation processes

Practice in Lean Manufacturing, Process Optimization and Use of KPIs to Control Production

Impressed leadership, communication skills and a sense of decision as well as a structured, solution-oriented approach
