Senior Embedded Software Engineer – BMS (m/f/d)

As a senior embedded software engineer, you design the BMS software that makes our battery systems intelligent and safe, from the design to series maturity. You are working on products that drive thousands of electric-fluting vehicles worldwide every day. You have great scope for design and actively influence technical directional decisions and bring your own ideas into product development You take the professional leadership+ for a team of 5 developers with a perspective on disciplinary leadership You are responsible for architecture and implementation of embedded software in C/C++ – from drivers (CAN, SPI, I2C) to interface design You integrate software into the ECU environment, work with real-time operating systems (ThreadX, PXROS) and implements AI-based dev tools (Codex, Claude) specifically You perform debugging, profiling and performance optimization on embedded targets – including Lauterbach/Trace32 You ensure quality through unit/integration tests (Unity), HIL tests (Vector Tools) and root-cause analyses in the interdisciplinary team

Successfully completed studies in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or comparable At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development, ideally in the automotive, industrial or BMS environment In-depth expertise in embedded C/C++, microcontrollers and real-time software Experience with software architecture and independent development of design concepts Knowledge of functionally safe software according to ISO 13849, IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 Experience in professional mentoring and in the technical guidance of developers Good knowledge of English in word and writing Nice-to-haves: Cybersecurity in Embedded Systems (ISO/SAE 21434) and/or Requirements Engineering (Polarion, ReqIF) Python and AI-based development for code generation, automation and review Experience with Vector CANoe, static code analysis (Polyspace, SonarQube, Axivion), CI/CDPipelines or laboratory/measuring technology That's what distinguishes you: You think beyond your own responsibility and actively shape technical solutions You work independently and find pragmatic ways in little structured situations You not only develop software, but also your team – through professional mentoring and constructive feedback You bring a strong quality awareness – especially in the context of safety-critical systems You meet architecture decisions and take responsibility for their implementation
