Group CFO – Commercial Director / Chief Financial Officer (m/w/d)

Owner-led group of companies – Immobilienwirtschaft – Baden-Württemberg Our client is a traditional family business of the real estate industry with a considerable stock, among others in the area of high-quality office real estate, shopping malls and commercial parks. Focus markets are business centers in Germany and the USA, where the family is invested via subsidiaries in numerous, partly very prestigious, objects. Entrepreneurial skill, appropriate risk behaviour and comfortable equity equipment are key elements for dynamic, profitable and sustainable growth. But the technical expertise and a closely and loyal leadership team working with the entrepreneur have also secured sustainable success. An experienced successor is looking for the long-term group CFO (m/w/d) that is due to age reasons.

In this multi-faceted function, you are managing directors of the service company and are responsible for the Group's management structure for finance, taxes, controlling, accounting, risk management, investment management and insurance. In this enterprise unit, the functions and services described above are bundled for the participations and are depicted in a complex reporting system. In addition, you are in the non-operative umbrella company of all holdings with a strong trust position as the financial manager of the commercial consultants and business partner of the entrepreneurial family. With reliable financial, fiscal and corporate analyses and recommendations for action, you support business decisions and support projects and transactions in business. With a view to the comprehensive activities in the USA, you as an organ member also take over board functions in the US companies and act as a “commercial bridgehead” from Germany for the USA. In addition, you will bring your expertise to the optimal design of a gradual transition to the already initiated generation change.

You are best suited to our client, if you have been working strategically and operatively for several years as a group CFO in a larger family business, ideally with real estate and U.S. reference. You have an entrepreneurial mentality that is reflected in your analyses and recommendations in a reasonable chance-risk ratio. In conjunction with your natural authority, your team motivates you to support the entrepreneurial family in their efforts to maintain healthy growth, maintain value and increase real estate assets and to further develop the organization. They are strong in communication and contact and also use these properties to maintain and expand the network of external service providers including banks and consultants. International readiness to travel, especially in the United States, as well as knowledge of English that is safe to negotiate, are indispensable.
