Manager Export Control & Sanctions (m/f/d)

In your role as Manager (m/w/d) Export Control & Sanctions, you are responsible for ensuring compliance and with your expert advice on export control and sanction law “Best-in-Class” practices. In this process, you will process complex cases with decision-making and law of instruction in the context of sanctions and export control with a global range, including US and CN (re) export law, and ensure audit-proof documentation of decision-making and results. In addition, you are responsible for the application and maintenance of export control systems and data (e.g. SAP GTS, internal classification databases). You are the central specialist in export control and sanction law issues for various functional areas (purchasing, distribution, logistics, legal, M&A, finance) of the various Heraeus companies and international subsidiaries. You support the professional support of due diligence tests as well as penalty screenings in cooperation with relevant stakeholders with a global focus. Active participation in the design of the global regulatory framework and in the implementation and maintenance of the global risk management process. Among other things, you observe and evaluate current regulatory developments (including AWG, AWV, EU dual-use-VO) and are responsible for identifying risks, vulnerabilities and optimization potentials, as well as deriving concrete measures and recommendations for action. As part of knowledge management, you develop regular training and communication measures for export control & sanctions and implement them. The active participation in projects, internal or regulatory audits and contacts and the further development of ICPs and group-wide export control processes round off your area of responsibility.

Completed university studies (Bachelor or Master) in relevant topics such as (economic) law or international trade or relevant long-term professional experience with demonstrable training At least 5 years of professional experience with well-founded knowledge in trade regulations, EU and national export control and sanction law as well as experience with international regimes such as US-EAR and relevant sanctions Operational knowledge in classification & sanction list examination, of which at least 3 years in a globally active company and regional responsibility Ability to independently evaluate complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical solutions, including EU dual use A proactive approach in trade compliance and the pursuit of continuous improvement of our systems and processes The ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously, combined with high ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive data A structured, self-responsible way of working as well as pronounced communication and consulting skills in an international environment Your fluent German and English skills and experiences in handling SAP GTS complete your profile
