Managing Director (m/w/d) Transport Operations (Bus Transport)

Hoyerswerda mbH (VGH) – a company of the Städtische Wirtschaftsbetriebe Hoyerswerda GmbH (SWH) – is looking for 01. January 2026 a dedicated and visionary manager (m/w/d) transport company. The VGH is the central mobility service provider in Hoyerswerda and operates the city bus and pupil traffic with around 60 employees and also takes over numerous other tasks in the mobility area.

They have overall responsibility for the company's strategic, economic and operational management. Its focus is on a reliable and future-oriented ÖPNV, which meets the increasing requirements for environmental compatibility, economics and customer satisfaction. You will continue to develop the corporate strategy, identify market opportunities early on and adapt the business model to changing mobility needs. Innovative topics such as digitalization, electromobility and alternative drive technologies are of particular importance, which you are convinced to advance. In the operational area, you will ensure efficient, reliable and customer-oriented operation. They are responsible for the economic management of the company, including budget planning, cost control and funding management. At the same time, you ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Crisis and risk management is also in your hands. They develop measures to ensure operational safety. As a modern leadership, you maintain a value-adding and motivating corporate culture and create a sustainable personal strategy. In addition, you represent the VGH to the municipality, policy makers, authorities, traffic associations and other external partners. They maintain an active network, drive regional cooperation also in association with other SWH Group companies and promote the positive perception of the VGH in Hoyerswerda and the surrounding area.

For this demanding position you have a completed study (transport, business, etc.) as well as several years of experience in a leading position, ideally in the transport sector. They provide sound knowledge of the legal and economic framework of the ÖPNV. An additional qualification as traffic manager/operator BOKraft is desirable. Experiences in cooperation with political bodies, administration and local decision-makers are equally beneficial as the willingness to take your residence in or around Hoyerswerda. JOBV1_EN
