The safety assessment of future fusion power plants requires resilient models for the spread, environmental behaviour and dose assessment of tritium. The Resiliente and Smart Infrastructure Systems (RESIS) department has a special competence in this form at the interface of atmospheric propagation modelling, tritium modelling, radiation protection, nuclear emergency management and quality-secured scientific software development.

In detail, you have the following messages: Extension of existing Java and Fortran-based model components for the atmospheric propagation of radionuclides as well as the implementation of a planar or areal source term for the risk assessment of tritium releases from fusion reactors, including debugging, testing and documentation Development of the JRODOS system in Java including the implementation of new functionalities Working with model components for the behaviour of tritium, in particular HTO and OBT, in plants, food and food, and in dose calculation Development of small Python tools to support data processing, test automation, outcome testing and recurring development tasks

Completed university studies (Master) of the Department of Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Meteorology and a comparable discipline Multiannual professional experience as a software developer/software developer (w/m/d), preferably at mid+ level Experience in the development, maintenance and quality assurance of complex software systems, especially with Java Experience with Unit Testing and Test Automation Knowledge of design patterns and clean software architecture Careful code, interface and concept documentation Experience with Python to develop small tools and scripts Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
