The Software Factory is our in-house developed, multi-annual AI agent platform for automation of the entire software development lifecycle. The basic idea: AI agencies take over recurring tasks in coding, testing, refactoring and documentation, while central governance, cost transparency and human-in-the-loop control are maintained at all times. Instead of building and running its own AI toolchain, the Software Factory provides this capability as a shared platform, with the aim of making it accessible to all 1&1 development teams. The role of Product Owner AI Software Factory (w/m/d) is the responsibility for the vision, roadmap and value creation of this platform. We are looking for you at our locations in Karlsruhe, Montabaur, Frankfurt or Krefeld.
Development and scaling of the software factory product vision with clear AI and automation focus. Set up and prioritize the Product Backlog for AI agents and platform functionalities along the SDLC. Management of development AI-based workflows for coding, testing, refactoring and documentation. Definition of end-to-end processes and user journeys including human-in-the-loop gates. Development of the central workflow library with lifecycle management as well as the KPI and cost dashboards for governance at project, workflow and run level. Integration into existing toolchains (Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD, Jira, Confluence) and 1&1-standards via centrally hosted MCP servers. Close cooperation with AI/ML, MLOps, DevOps and Platform teams as well as support for rollout, enablement and change management. Ensuring quality, compliance, security and EU data sovereignty for AI-generated code in coordination with governance, security and legal teams.
Successfully completed studies of computer science, business informatics or comparable qualifications. Multiannual experience as Product Owner or Product Manager in the Tech/IT environment. Deep understanding of SDLC, DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools. Experience with complex technical products and platforms — ideally multi-edged and cloud-native. Ability to translate technology (especially AI) into measurable business value. Experience with AI/ML, GenAI, Agent Frameworks or Developer Tooling of advantage. Knowledge of modern software architectures (microservices, cloud-native, event streaming). Embossed stakeholder management and communication skills, strategic and implementation-oriented thinking, experience in transformation projects.
