Who we are The Municipality of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe as a modern service provider is located on the edge of the Taunus. As a spa town with about 55,000 inhabitants, it is distinguished as a health resort and congress city as well as a wide range of cultural, sports and leisure activities, a lot of green and short paths. Around 1,000 people work in the local administration, as a special status city, a variety of tasks have to be handled. The business promotion product area is part of the urban area 13 “Communication and Marketing”, which also includes the press and public relations and city marketing product areas. The task of urban economic development is to strengthen the economic development of the municipality, to build and support businesses, to create and secure jobs and to create attractive conditions for the local economy. We are looking for you for this task.

Development and marketing of commercial areas, promotion of the establishment of new enterprises and support of existing enterprises Establishment and maintenance of networks with local, regional and international partners as well as with chambers, associations and other economic institutions Supporting innovation projects and start-ups, promoting cooperation with universities and research institutions Initiation and monitoring of measures for the protection of skilled workers in cooperation with educational institutions and employment agencies Identification and management of funding at EU, federal and national level and advice on the use of funds Implementation of site analyses and market studies, preparation of templates and presentations for political bodies Coordination with other departments of the city administration in location and company-relevant projects

Graduate degree at a university or technical college in a relevant area such as economics, architecture, urban planning or regional planning You are also eligible for the occupation of the place if you have an FH/or Bachelor's degree in these courses have and can perform the activities due to equivalent skills and experience. Comprehensive knowledge in location development, corporate development and economic policy frameworks

Leadership Experience & Transformation Competence Multi-year leadership experience and demonstrable successes in the strategic development of business locations Experience in supporting economic structural change processes with a focus on international competitiveness and diversity of industries

Network work & strategic partnerships Established contacts with companies, associations, institutions and multipliers in the real estate, innovation and start-ups Competence in building sustainable partnerships to strengthen the business location

Urban Development & Economic Policy Funded know-how in the interconnection of urban development and economic development Ability to identify economic trends early and strategically integrate them into decision-making processes

Experience in the digital transformation of business-promoting processes, especially in the use of AI to increase efficiency Handling CRM, database and event software as well as social media channels (especially LinkedIn)

Project management & Budget management Experience in the design, control and implementation of complex projects Sovereign handling of budget responsibility, efficient use of resources and targeted planning

Communication strength & representation Safe occurrence in communication with companies, investors and political actors Experience in representation at trade fairs, special events and delegation trips – also internationally German and English; further language skills welcome
