The Chair of Medical Information Technology is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The chair is also part of the cross-faculty Helmholtz Institute for Biomedical Engineering. Main areas of work: Automation technology for medicine, physiological measurement technology, portable medical technology (Personal Health Care). Your duties Working with the BMWi ZIM project “Beate” Medical questioning/objective: How can a mobile intensive breathing device be developed that comes out without high-pressure oxygen supply and enables safe volume-controlled breathing in preclinical, transport and disaster scenarios with the aid of an oxygen concentrator, blowers and intelligent regulation? Methodology/Tools: Development of a new pneumatic topology with oxygen concentrator, dosing chamber and dynamic bower; model-based regulation of minute volume and FiO2; microcontroller-based real-time control; sensor integration (flow, pressure, O2); System identification, CFD simulation, hardware-in‐the-loop tests and experimental validation.

• Higher education (master or comparable) of electrical engineering, medical technology, physics, mechanical engineering with above average degree

There is the possibility to extend for another 2 years. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law. It is a full-time job.
