With about 40 degree courses, the Dual University of Saxony leads students to the degree of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in practical-integrated dual degree programs and will also offer dual master courses and conduct cooperative research. Task profile: Digitization of business and production processes plays an essential role in all courses of the Plauen State Study Academy. In addition to the classic IT applications such as ERP and PPS systems, methods of artificial intelligence are increasingly being used for quality assurance, prediction of material requirements and maintenance cycles as well as for simulation. In addition, “Augmented Reality” applications are becoming increasingly important in many processes. Their tasks include the design and implementation of courses on these topics, both according to the current curriculum and the further development of these topics on nine courses in coordination with the Directorate and the respective course managers. They are actively involved in the continuous further development of the digital study content, the support of students in these topics and the contact care to the practical partners in order to develop practical teaching content for digitalization in companies together with these. In addition, your tasks include the development of digital teaching formats and their integration into the study offerings, the development of further and further training offerings in the field of digitalization, and the initiation and implementation of research projects with profit transfer to the practical partner companies.

Applicants for the enrolled professor's office should have a sound knowledge and practical experience in the areas of digitalization of business processes and the application of methods of artificial intelligence. Applicants are to demonstrate competencies in at least three of the following areas: well-founded theoretical and application-oriented knowledge of software development, extensive experience in the programming languages Python and C++ practical experience in the use of relevant tools for software creation and management knowledge in the development and use of databases deepened theoretical and practical knowledge of machine learning processes Application of data analytics methods, in particular in the field of production planning and control Applications of artificial intelligence in the areas of “predictive maintenance”, “quality assurance” and “individualized learning paths” Data Mining and related mathematical models Quality Management and Quality Management Systems and, in addition, at least one of the following priorities shall be represented: Development of algorithms to solve optimization tasks Digital assistance and decision support systems Applied Statistics In the content and organizational coordination and the efficient design of the scientific and practical phases of study, there is a need for a strong technical skills, practical experience as a competent interlocutor for the dual practical partners, as well as experience and knowledge in the care of students and in the organization of study courses. Commitment and operational capability for the further development of the digital content of the courses are assumed. All applicants must fulfil the conditions of employment according to § 59 SächsHSG: completed university studies of the relevant scientific area (informatics, mathematics or comparable), pedagogical aptitude, which is usually demonstrated by experience in teaching, high-indebtedness-dactical qualifications and by a sample event (sample lecture, trial lecture), special ability to scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate, special services in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in a generally five-year, relevant professional practice, of which at least three years have been carried out outside the higher education sector. The place of work is the State Academy of Studies in Plauen. If necessary, it is also possible to use another State Academy of Studies at the Dual University of Saxony. The nature and scope of the duties of the teaching staff at the University of Applied Sciences in Saxony are given by the University Service Tasks Regulation.
