With a tradition of over 800 years, the Klinikum St. Georg is the oldest hospital in Leipzig and in municipal sponsorship. It currently has approx. 1,066 beds(and is certified as a supra-regional trauma center (ÜTZ), supra-regional Stroke unit and as a Cardiac Arrest Center. The clinic has a separate Chest Pain and Heart Failure Unit. As a medical center in the north of Leipzig, the central emergency take-up with more than 40,000 patient contacts acts as a primary point of contact for patients and is assigned to the comprehensive emergency care (level III). The Central Interdisciplinary Emergency Record is a professionally independent unit of the Centre for Emergency Medicine and is occupied by an independent medical service group.

• Patient care within the emergency reception service systems
• Participation in concepts and standards to ensure the structure, process and result quality
• Supervision of the assistant physicians employed in emergency training
