Do you want the energy transition to progress faster and do you want to contribute to the transformation of our energy system? Then you are right with us! We operate one of the largest virtual power plants in Europe in which thousands of electricity producers, consumers and storage units are connected. With our team we are actively working on the implementation of a green electricity market in the future – at our location in the middle of Cologne-Ehrenfeld, in our European branches and, of course, in the home office. Python Software Developer_in (w/m/d) In the area of Software & Data Services, we develop sustainable software solutions for a growing portfolio of battery stores as well as solar, wind and biogas plants. To do this, you develop Python applications for data exchange with network operators to participate in regulatory energy markets and to give network operators the opportunity to eliminate network bottlenecks, for example by Redispatch. This is how you contribute to successfully mastering the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly renewable energy system. An open, collegial working environment with highly qualified, motivated and helpful colleagues awaits you. We place great emphasis on respectful and transparent communication, live diversity and actively promote inclusive work environment. Flexible working time models are not an empty flea for us, but a living company reality. Whether full-time or part-time – let us know how we find each other on this point.

You develop in Python applications that ensure smooth data exchange with network operators. You design and develop HTTPS and messaging APIs for internal developer teams. You develop modern web applications with Python (FastAPI, Django) and JavaScript (Vue.js). You operate and automate our infrastructure with Azure, Terraform, GitHub Actions and Ansible and continuously develop our CI/CD processes. You analyze requirements from official interface descriptions and tune technical solutions with internal stakeholders. You use AI-based coding tools and agents to develop software more efficiently, support code reviews and detect errors early on. You work in a cross-functional team using agile methods such as Scrum, Pair Programming, Code Reviews and Retrospectives.

You have several years of professional experience in developing with Python and could ideally gain experience with FastAPI or Django. You also have experience in the front end with JavaScript and ideally with Vue.js. You are sure to go to the topics CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code as well as in dealing with Azure, Terraform, GitHub Actions and Ansible. You bring a good understanding of cryptographic principles such as hashing, signing, encryption and TLS and S/MIME certificates. You already have knowledge of HTTPS, SFTP and messaging protocols.
