The Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e. V. (MPG) is a self-government organization of science funded by the federal and state governments. It currently operates 85 institutes and research institutes in Germany and abroad basic research in natural and spiritual sciences and is thus one of the internationally leading research institutes with numerous Nobel Prize winners in their ranks. The MPG founded the new central IT facility Max Planck Information and Technology (MaxIT) on 1 January 2026. This bundles and coordinates central IT activities of the MPG and is a reliable partner for science and administration. It consists essentially of the MPDL (Max Planck Digital Library) and the Department of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) of the General Administration. As a central institution for IT and librarianship, it develops and implements strategies and technologies in the areas of digitalization in science and administration, open science, library, publishing, IT infrastructure and IT security. In close cooperation with the scientific institutes and the General Administration (GV), MaxIT focuses on the efficient use of modern digital tools and technologies to sustainably promote digital transformation in science and administration. The SAP Competence Center of the ICT department is looking for a Project Manager SAP HCM/SAP SuccessFactors (w/m/d)

Especially for SAP Factors, we need your process and project management expertise, which you have been able to collect specifically for this SAP solution in recent years. Responsibility for IT customer services in the field of personnel management of the Max Planck Society Moderation and documentation of customer requirements Definition of new customer service including the Service Level Agreements agreement Project Management of the Transformation Project SAP Success-Factors Employee Central Education of necessary project teams and management of internal and external project staff as well as project-related staff from the institutes and the general administration Coordination of the new SOLL process in SAP Success Factors with the different stakeholders Responsibility for the planning, control and implementation of various projects in connection with the transformation of the SAP HCM system of the MPG to SAP Success Factors Development and pursuit of project plans with resource, appointment and budget planning Development of sustainable concepts and preparation of decision-making alternatives with multiple solutions Budget and project result management with the necessary reporting

Complete study of computer science, economic informatics, business management, economic engineering or comparable training Experience Experience in managing transformation projects and/or subprojects with SAP Success Factors environment, preferably Success Factors Employee Central and Time Knowledge of a commercially available management method (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Prince2 etc.) Experience in the leadership of a team Change management skills Ability to moderate/develop processes with specialist departments and Max Planck Institutes Analytical skills, goal-oriented work, high level of readiness and reliability, safe occurrence, very good communicative skills and high social competence Desired – but not necessarily – are: User and customizing experience in the SAP-HCM environment Knowledge eRecruiting, Personal Data and Employee-Self Services (ESS/MSS) Certifications (Scrum, Kanban, Prince2)
