VAN HAM is one of the leading art auction houses in Germany. Our focus is on modern & contemporary art, but we are also active internationally in the fields of jewelry & clocks, old art and art. Collectors and traders from all over the world buy at our live and online only auctions. The company was founded in 1959 by Carola van Ham and is now second generation led by her son Markus Eisenbeis. At our location in Cologne and Wesseling, a team of about 80 colleagues from all departments awaits you.

Our department Fine Art (Alte Meister bis Impressionismus) is one of Germany's strongest specialist departments for this area. The four-member team combines well-founded expertise with a strong team capability – a combination that contributes significantly to the success of the department. It awaits an exciting time with extensive insights into international auctioning.

Acquisition of deliveries for the auctions “Fine Art” Support for existing customers and acquisitions of new customers Self-assessment of objects (online and on site) Conducting expert days, including in our representative dances Visit of national and international trade fairs Catalogization and description of objects for our auctions Compilation of state reports (German/English) and translation Support in the organisation and execution of our auctions Visit of exhibitions or exhibition openings Active observation of the market and further development of the Department of Fine Art

Complete study of art history with focus on art from the 16th to 19th century or comparable qualification Very good knowledge and enthusiasm for old art to impressionism Joy in customer care and acquisition Evidence of experience in the art market High self-motivation, strong sense of responsibility, targeted working and team skills Safe occurrence in dealing with buyers and suppliers German and very good knowledge of English; other foreign languages of advantage Versified handling of common computer Class B driving licence
