Lead Engineer - Banking Foundations

We are seeking a talented Lead Engineer to join our expanding teams and evolve our product, powered by a microservice architecture predominantly written in Java 8 and Kotlin, using Spring Boot. As a Lead Engineer at N26, you will be encouraged to embrace the latest technological updates and given a platform to work on complex, problems on a daily basis. Working as part of global experience customer team you will take technical leadership and ownership of the product development You will build architectures and write code that is able to fulfill the needs of our users and own it from idea over development You will mentor and coach the team of engineers, cultivating DevSecOps culture and pragmatic engineering attitude Drive the team's build-it-ship-it attitude by healthy demonstrating engineering practices, writing clean, well-tested, and well-refactored code with the team, and shipping it into production as often as possible Lead initiatives to improve our company-wide engineering culture and discover ways to multiply the effectiveness of the team and the organization

Experience in developing software using a JVM language and Spring Boot in Large-scale production systems (note: experience of Kotlin would be a plus) Sound understanding of microservice architecture Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres Experience architecting and developing complex systems for CD in a cloud-based environment Experience leading developers, tech mentoring and working with cross-functional teams You are familiar with and enjoy working in Agile technical setup (e.g. Kanban/Scrum, CI/CD, DevOps, Cloud). You have full professional proficiency in English and good communication skills
