The recruitment is based on § 14 para. 1 No 7 TzBfG due to budgetary support from the Free State of Thuringia and from the city of Weimar.

The Kunstfest Weimar is the largest festival for contemporary art in Thuringia and one of the most important of its kind in East Germany. From August 21 to September 6, 2026**, visitors will be invited to experience international and regional positions from theatre, dance, performance, music, visual art, literature and discourse for two and a half weeks.

The new artistic director of Katharina Germo and Juliane Hahn understands the festival as a forum of contemporary art. It opens up spaces for new perspectives and participation, connects social questions with artistic experiments and at the same time creates an open, festive atmosphere.

Weimar, the public space and the Thuringian region become lively venues where artistic quality, joy of experimentation and the diversity of our present become noticeable. Surprising encounters between artists: the focus is on the audience and the city society. The Kunstfest Weimar is a place for common experience, for critical questions – and for the joy of the diversity of contemporary art.

For strengthening our team in advance, during and for the preparation of the festival, we are looking for an employee: in the field of marketing/communication and press work.

With the help of publicly effective measures, it is important to market the festival and its programme and to present it in focus on the outside. This requires artistic expertise, linguistic competence and a high degree of self-initiative and self-responsibility.

The activity includes the following tasks:

• Service of the press representatives: inside
• Creation of a press mirror
• Protectorate
• Participation in the planning and organisation of sales strategies
• conceptual and creative work in the team
• Support of the online marketing including maintenance of the website and, if necessary, Social media channels

A change of the task area is reserved.

You meet the following conditions:

• successfully completed commercial vocational training with a focus on PR and marketing, marketing assistance or marketing communication, completed studies in the cultural, media or communication sciences, or a comparable qualification with relevant priorities or equivalent knowledge and skills
• first practical experience in the field of online communication or online marketing, preferably in a cultural business
• Style security in writing different texts
• good knowledge of content management systems (typo3)
• relevant knowledge in the current MS Office programs, desirable InDesign and Photoshop
• Basic knowledge of the German and European theatre, music theatre and art scene
• Foreign language skills (English required, other languages desirable)
• high communication competence
• independent, conscientious and efficient work organization
• Teamability, enforcement, creativity and resilience
• readiness for flexible working hours

The contractual relationship depends on NV stage/SR solo.
