IT Network Architect (m/f/d)

To support our team in the IT network, we are looking for you as IT Network Architect (w/m/d) at one of the locations of the motorway headquarters in Dresden, Berlin or Essen. The department is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of a nationwide, highly complex network environment through the development and application of appropriate procedures and the further development of medium to complex LAN/WAN and firewall segments.

Designing network architectures: plan and design company-wide network components – from Access to WAN – and develop future-oriented topologies as well as network management systems Making technology decisions: You choose and evaluate innovative network technologies and products that advance our corporate strategy Strategic development: you implement and optimize network solutions and develop long-term strategies for a powerful infrastructure Focus on security: You design and implement security measures according to BSI standards and conduct regular audits to minimize risk Cooperation & Consulting: You work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth rollouts and successful projects Analysis & Incident Management: As an expert, you support complex network issues and take over 3rd level support for critical incidents

Experience and qualification: You have completed their studies, ideally Master's degree, with a focus on (economic) informatics, IT management or a comparable qualification Long-standing expertise: You have at least five years of professional experience in network architecture, network design and implementation of complex network solutions Technical expertise: You have a profound understanding of LANs, WANs, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing and VPNs as well as well as well-founded knowledge in network protocols and standards (e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, MPLS, Segment Routing) Architecture and Security: You are able to develop complex network architectures taking into account business requirements, scalability, performance and security and implement security policies according to current standards Project and analysis competence: You have demonstrable experience in project planning, resource management, time planning and budget control – and are versed in the analysis of network problems and the optimization of network performance Communication strength and further development: You communicate safely at all levels, present complex technical concepts in a comprehensible way and keep your expertise up to date through continuous training and certification (e.g. Cisco CCNP/CCIE) Very good knowledge of German in word and writing

That would be desirable: Certifications of network technology providers such as Cisco (e.g. CCNP, CCIE) or comparable certifications
