Systems & Infrastructure Engineer - Robotics (m/f/d)

As a Software Engineer at our Rostock location, you will develop innovative software solutions for the next generation of autonomous systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will tackle complex technical challenges and contribute throughout the entire development lifecycle—from concept and implementation to the continuous improvement of our technologies. What is your Day to Day Mission: Deploy, configure and maintain Linux-based systems on robotic platforms and ground control stations.

Design, implementation and troubleshoot network and communication architectures for field deployments and operational environments.

Build and maintain secure connectivity solutions between distributed systems and remote assets.

Configure, monitor and troubleshoot wired, wireless and satellite communication left.

Manage routing, firewalling, VPNs and network services across complex system environments.

Build, deploy and maintain containerized applications and supporting infrastructure.

Support software deployment pipelines, automation and infrastructure management.

Monitor system performance, network health and service availability.

Work closely with robotics, software and teams to integrate and operate complete system solutions.

Prepare, maintain and support robotic platforms during testing, demonstrations and customer deployments.

Troubleshoot issues across software, networking, communications and hardware components.

Contribute to technical documentation, deployment procedures and operational best practices.

What you bring to the team:

Experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or a similar role.

Strong Linux administration and troubleshoot skills.

Experience with Embedded Linux platforms, autonomous systems, robotics hardware or edge computing devices.

Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, firewalls, NAT and network services.

Experience deploying and operating distributed or remote systems.

Practical experience with containerization technologies and modern deployment workflows.

Understanding of infrastructure automation and CI/CD principles.

Experience integrating and troubleshooting communication systems and networked devices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across software, hardware and networking domains.

Hands-on mindset with the ability to work directly on systems in laboratory and field environments.

Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced and mission-critical situation.

Strong communication skills and fluent English.
