Research Assistant – System Identification of Unmanned Aerial Systems (m/f/d)

The Institute for Flight System Dynamics (FSD) at RWTH Aachen is dedicated to the design, modelling and automation of flight systems. A research focus is on the regulation and safe operation of highly automated flight systems even in unconventional configurations, such as so-called change flight systems. An exact modelling of the flight dynamic properties is essential for the assessment of flight characteristics and flight performances as well as the design of the controllers. Flight dynamic models can be created, among other things, on the basis of simulations of different complexity, wind tunnel tests and free flight tests. Within the framework of research projects, the methods for modelling are to be further developed and tested and validated on various flight systems. The RWTH is certified as a family-friendly university. RWTH offers a variety of health, counselling and prevention services (e.g. university sports) as part of a university health management. Graduate degree (master or comparable) in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering Science (CES), Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Structured and independent operation Knowledge of flight mechanics and flight control

Supplier: Chair and Institute of Flight System Dynamics The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to 1 year. A further employment of 2 to 4 years is envisaged. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law. It is a full-time job. If desired, parttime employment can be made possible. There is a doctoral opportunity. The grouping depends on the TV-L. The place is rated with EG 13 TV-L. The job description is aimed at all sexes.
