As a Consultant Data Protection & AI Governance (m/w/d) in parttime, you are the central contact person for data protection and AI governance issues in our company. You advise our departments at eye level, develop pragmatic solutions together and ensure that regulatory requirements are implemented efficiently and in practice. You work independently and coordinate complex questions with our data protection officer and the expert:in the Bertelsmann Group. You advise our departments on data protection issues as well as the requirements of the EU AI Act and accompany projects from idea to implementation. You continuously establish and develop our privacy and AI governance and ensure that regulatory requirements are understood, practicable and sustainable in the company. You coordinate data protection and AI topics across areas and bring together different interests from business, product, IT, security, legal and management. You evaluate data protection and AI-relevant risks of new processes, applications and technologies and develop appropriate measures together with the disciplines. You are responsible for the further development of our data protection processes and documentation, such as directories of processing activities, data protection impact assessments, TOMs and governance guidelines. You coordinate affected requests, data protection incidents and other regulatory requirements and ensure efficient processing. You develop internal policies, standards and best practices for data protection and AI governance. You design and moderate workshops, training and awareness-raising activities and support our colleagues in securely integrating data protection and responsible use of AI into their daily work. For complex legal issues, you work closely with our data protection officer, external legal advisers and the data protection, compliance and AI expert:in the Bertelsmann Group.

You have a degree in Business Law (LLL.B./LL.M.), Law (1st State Exam or Master), Economics (BWL/VWL) and Experience in Data Protection, Compliance or Risk Management or a comparable qualification. You have several years of experience in data protection, compliance or a comparable governance environment. You know the requirements of the GDPR and have ideally already gained practical experience with the EU AI Act or AI governance issues. You are delighted to translate complex regulatory requirements into pragmatic and economically sensible solutions. You work independently, structured and take responsibility for your topics. You understand yourself as a business partner:in our specialist areas and convince by your pronounced service orientation. You are confident in communication, moderate different interests and manage to win different stakeholders for joint solutions. You keep a close eye on regulatory developments and bring new requirements into the company proactively. Experiences in the field of information security, compliance management or governance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST AI RMF or comparable standards) are advantageous. A workplace in the state-of-the-art office in the heart of Bochum and a hybrid working model where we meet at the office on two days a week. An annual salary between € 48,000 - € 54,000, depending on previous experience, at an employment level of 80%. This corresponds to a full-time gross salary of €60,000 - €67,000 a year.
