Area Manager Operations / Head of Logistics (m/w/d) - Kitzingen bei Würzburg / Frankfurt / Nürnberg

For our new location in Kitzingen we are looking for a department manager Logistics as Area Manager (m/w/d). If you move for the location and your home address is at least 80 km from the location, we will support you with a moving package. The operating division is the heart of Amazon. This essential part of our company ensures that we send orders efficiently so that our customers receive their articles in time. As an Area Manager, you will ensure that all processes at your location work as smoothly as possible so that we can meet customer demand. You run a team (approx. 3 shift managers, 3-4 team leaders and 1-2 associates) that ensures the safety, efficiency and first-class quality of our operations. In addition, you will guide a number of projects across our entire network to promote productivity. A day in the life You work at one of our new locations during shift operation and make sure that the processes there are as productive as possible. Priority Your activity is the management and promotion of a safety culture and the maintenance of the quality and performance standards of the work layers. You also supervise the process improvements in your area and organize the implementation. A typical working day can look very different and includes both routine team management and daily operational tasks as well as process improvement and extensive operational tasks for the eventual event and should be ready to find unconventional solutions and quickly make operational decisions. About the team The logistics department at Amazon (AMZL) is responsible for the “Last-Mile logistics” – i.e. the delivery of our packages in partnership with third parties. We think creatively and implement initiatives for continuous improvement to deliver millions of physical products to our customers. Our goal is to make the delivery experience for our customers as smooth as possible and to introduce global delivery solutions for our latest offers.

Create, supervise and promote a culture of security and well-being Structure and leadership of the new team of shift managers and support in the management of the camp staff Analysis and implementation of changes to ensure continuous high quality and productivity Monitoring of projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity and improve customer service quality:in your area of responsibility Analysis of the shifts according to company specifications and implementation of measures to improve our operational excellence Cooperation with colleagues at management level in order to standardise shift procedures

Management experience Relevant experience in communication with different stakeholders, including colleagues and executives Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to justify business decisions Advanced English and German knowledge in Word and Writing Preferred qualifications: Preferred qualifications are not required to apply to Amazon. Degree of study Experience in working with Lean, Six-Sigma and Kaizen methods Experience with work in another logistics environment Insufficient experience in dealing with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment Previous experience in work for newly founded locations/company/ facilities
