With us you will become part of a team specializing in the production of high-voltage cables and is world leader in the energy market. We are looking for a:n Apprentice:n Material Tester:in. During the 3,5-year-old apprenticeship, you will learn to examine plastics and other materials professionally, evaluate test results and ensure the quality of our products and processes. In addition to practical training at NKT, you will visit the vocational school in a part-time model.

The following is also expected: You will learn different plastics, polymer types, fillers, additives and composites, as well as their structure, properties and applications. You prepare samples professionally and carry out mechanical, thermal, physico-chemical and microscopic studies. You work with tensile, bending, pressure, hardness and impact tests as well as modern analytical methods such as DSC, TGA and infrared spectroscopy. You will investigate the influence of processing, temperature, humidity, chemicals and aging on materials and products. You assess test results according to test instructions, specifications and standards, perform plausibility checks and document measurement values in tables, graphics and test reports. You participate in the systematic investigation of material deviations and damage cases and, together with the team, develop suggestions for trouble prevention. You set up test places, check test equipment and ensure compliance with test conditions, work safety, environmental protection and quality requirements. You work independently, tune with upstream and downstream areas and gain insights into the production and testing of modern energy cables and their materials.

You're in touch and enjoy working in the team. Other important qualifications are: You have the middle maturity, a real school degree or a degree or will acquire this degree until the beginning of your training. You have a good technical, mathematical and scientific understanding, especially in physics and chemistry. You enjoy practical laboratory work, modern testing and analysis equipment and work with digital measurement and documentation systems. You work carefully, reliably and responsibly and have a high level of safety and quality awareness. You are curious, learning, team-oriented and can describe observations and results in a comprehensible way.
