The Department of Radiation Protection of the Security and Environment Service Unit is responsible for KIT's nearly 200 Radiation Protection Officers on all issues relating to radiation protection. Our aim is to make it possible as far as possible for any research idea to conform to the law and to remove the work relating to radiation protection from the scientists, where appropriate. At the same time, however, we are also responsible for internal monitoring of the legally compliant implementation of the nuclear regulatory framework and are actively ensuring compliance. Radiation Protection Engineer (w/m/d) Safety and Environment (SUM) indefinite from now on Full time 55.700,00 to 60.800,00 EUR gross per year

You support process and project management by adapting, developing and controlling radiation protection processes to nuclear and radiation protection requirements, regulatory requirements and the need of the KIT operator units. You create and maintain procedure instructions as well as standard work instructions in radiation protection. You manage radiation protection projects such as further development or Renewal of administrative software for personal dosimetry, accounting of radioactive substances, KISS, nuclear materials and related reporting obligations to the competent authorities. In the occupational health precautionary management of KIT, you are responsible for its further development and advise all organizational units on the obligations arising from the ArbMedVV and § 77 StrlSchV. You shall support the control body for the transport of radioactive substances and advise the institutions in the case of radiation protection control and in the case of transport and transport operations in close coordination with the hazardous goods officer. You advise the Radiation Protection Officers in defining protective measures, planning activities in control and monitoring areas and implementing the KIT Radiation Protection Regulation

Complete university studies (Bachelor/Diplom (FH)) in the field of radiation protection, safety/environmental engineering, or physics with a focus on radiation protection Experience in dealing with radioactive substances and their accounting Knowledge of quality management and authority correspondence Experience with release and disposal processes of radioactive substances according to StrlSchV and AtEV Knowledge of the transport of dangerous goods class 7 and radiation measurement technology German knowledge of C2 level and good English knowledge of word and writing Reliability after AtZÜV Organizational talent and team skills driving licence class B Breathability G 26.2 Ideally, further experience with the development of management software in the radiation protection sector
