In the Drive Application 1 & 2, we design the drive-side driving experience of a Mercedes-Benz – from emotional rideability to intelligent efficiency. Our team develops operating strategies for high-performance top end vehicles, new driving features and applies range and consumption forecasts for battery-electric AMG vehicles. We combine vehicle technology, software development, simulation, measurement data evaluation and data-driven methods such as machine learning. For these exciting topics, we have to award an internship to introduce our own ideas and to develop the performance (electro) mobility of tomorrow together with us. These challenges include: Development and development of team-specific tools, e.g. for automated evaluation of measurement data and for visualization of consumption and range indicators Analysis of real vehicle and fleet data to better understand influencing variables on the energy consumption of performance electric vehicles Testing and evaluation of machine learning approaches for consumption and range forecasting, e.g. based on driving profiles, topology, weather, vehicle configuration and driving program Preparation of tests on prototypes and support in experimental setups including evaluation and interpretation of test results Agile cooperation between functional development, application, simulation and vehicle testing in the environment of future Top End Vehicles The activity can start from October 2026.

In the course of studies Technical Cybernetics, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Engineering or a comparable course of studies with completed basic studies or Bachelor degree course Secure knowledge of German in word and writing, reliable knowledge of English programming experience, ideally in Python and/or Matlab/Simulink; Knowledge of data analysis, machine learning or statistics are a plus Interest in electric mobility, performance vehicles, consumption modelling, range forecast and data-driven functional development Safe handling of MS Office Valid driving permit class B (car) Curiosity, initiative and fun to analyze technical issues in a structured manner, discuss them in a team and implement them in a practical way Please note that your internship at this site must have a prescribed mandatory share.
