Data Engineer – Focus on AI & Cloud-Data-Infrastructure (AWS) (m/f/d)

You develop innovative solutions for the processing and analysis of structured and unstructured data (e.g. text, image) to create the basis for modern AI and machine learning applications. Design and operate robust data pipelines for efficient processing of large amounts of data using AWS services such as EMR, Step Functions, Open Search, Glue and Athena. You design and implement ingestion pipelines for vector databases and thus create the basis for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and other generative AI applications. By implementing suitable validation and quality mechanisms, you ensure data quality and consistency. In close cooperation with our ML Engineers and Data Scientists, make sure that all data requirements for machine learning and AI products are optimally supported.

You have a completed degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in computer science, data science, mathematics or a comparable qualification and bring at least two years of professional experience in data engineering with a focus on AI and cloud topics. Very good knowledge of Python as well as experience in dealing with data processing frameworks such as PySpark and vector databases. You have proven experience in building, operating and scaling productive data pipelines and ensure high data quality and stability. In the processing and analysis of unstructured data - for example text and image data - you have practical experience. Cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and their data-&-analytics services (e.g. Glue, Athena, EMR, Step Functions) are familiar to you. Knowledge of CI/CD workflows, automated deployments and web crawling complement your profile ideally. An independent, proactive way of working, pronounced communication skills and very good German knowledge (at least C1 level) complete your profile.
