''We'', that is the city service youth of the ring town of Solingen - 230 professionals who organize themselves in five departments: · In the family office we plan and coordinate the youth assistance landscape. · Youth support and youth care strengthens, protects and empowers. It ensures the self-determination of children and adolescents and ensures their participation through their own offers and through the coordination of the offers of our partners. · Psychological services - the Coppelstift offers valuable support for families and schools, in particular with the educational counsellor and school psychology. · The General Social Service (ASD) works in a social-space-oriented manner and secures the right to education and protect children and young people. · The administration provides cooperation for the economic viability of educational decisions. With our know-how, we support administrative issues and manage the financing of kitas and projects. Digitization as a service for our clients is important to us and we drive them forward.

The place of use: Solingen

As a director of the city service, you are the head and face of the city service. They develop guides, set strategic goals in compliance with existing resources, align the service accordingly, control clear specifications and processes and represent the goals inward and outward. You will also accompany the organizational change, for example in terms of digitalization and new forms of work. They represent the city service in public relations, in society, politics and associations. You will communicate our values, ideas and offers. In political bodies, in particular in the Youth Assistance Committee, you represent the city service and cooperate with other youth assistance partners to achieve best possible goals. As a management of the city service, you will undoubtedly make technical decisions as a top-level authority, taking into account various, partly contradictory interests. They provide an orientation framework for your employees and executives and are available in challenging situations.

From your experience in a leading role of a youth office or youth assistance, you already know the need for families, children and young people and the correspondingly complex relationships and interactions. You have very good child-, youth- and family-specific theoretical, concept- and legal knowledge and a sense of economic decisions through your completed academic studies (master or diploma) of the social sciences, social work or general administrative sciences. You know what it means in a highly specialised environment to organize conceptual developments cooperatively and in part. They want to drive innovation and change and take part in their extremely strong contact and communication skills. They burn for strategic projects and are able to present them and inspire your employees and other stakeholders for your ideas. They are a resilient and decision-making leader and have the ability to make sustainable decisions and take responsibility even under uncertainty, high pressure and limited resources. In conflict situations you show much empathy and are open to criticism. In doing so, you lose sight of the goals you set, go constructively with resistances and convince with your persistence & enforcement capability. They are ready, if necessary, to work even at times that are unusual (in the evening hours and weekends).
