The research group Data Science & Digital Libraries researches at the interface of knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, neurosymbolic AI and large language models. The focus of our work lies in the scientific and research-related field in which we develop AI-based methods and tools for the representation, analysis and use of complex scientific information. One of the key objectives of our research is to improve the concluding ability, robustness and interpretability of AI systems by combining symbolic and neuronal AI approaches. In this context, we investigate how knowledge graphs and large language models can be integrated to support reliable AI applications for scientific research and scientific communication. The body is partly funded by the EU-funded project FFplus - Fortissimo Plus and is embedded in the extensive research activities of TIB in the field of AI for scientific communication, knowledge graphs and large language models. In this context, the body contributes to the development, specialisation and validation of HPC-based AI/language models. Your activity includes Conception, development and evaluation of neurosymbolic AI methods and architectures Development and integration of large language models (Large Language Models, LLMs) in work processes of scientific research and scientific communication Work with knowledge graphs and methods of knowledge representation in the context of the Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG) Development of data-driven and AI-based models to support analysis, representation and use of scientific information Conducting experimental evaluations and documentation of research results Publication of research results in international scientific journals and presentation at conferences Participation in research cooperation and third-party applications
