More than 50,000 customers are heating with natural gas, over 40,000 with district heating, which comes to over 90 percent from waste heat and heat coupling. Water law: You control the water law procedures and protected area procedures for the Karlsruhe water works independently and you start the necessary documents in operation. After completion of the procedures, you will take care of the implementation of the requirements and secondary provisions Numerical modelling: You independently operate the numerical groundwater model of the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe and keep it up to date with regular revisions on the current state of science and technology Hydrology and hydrogeology: You manage the data on hydrology and hydrogeology in the management area of Karlsruhe drinking water production and keep it on the current scientific knowledge Hydrochemistry: You evaluate the quality of our groundwater resource as well as the corresponding risks. If necessary, install and tax measures to minimize risk and improve quality Environmental and nature protection: You control the assessment of the environmental and nature-protective effects of our groundwater withdrawals and the implementation of the corresponding prevention, reduction and compensation measures GIS: You acquire and manage the GIS data necessary to perform the above-described tasks independently, perform the corresponding GIS analyses and start the required maps

You have a degree in environmental or natural sciences or an engineering degree You have profound expertise in hydrology and hydrogeology With numerical groundwater models and geographic information systems (GIS), you know well You already have experience with professional nature protection, intervention/compensation accounting and eco account usage Knowledge of water law procedures and legal requirements of drinking water supply are advantageous Professional experience in water management, especially in drinking water supply, would be a plus
