We are looking for the area III – mechanical engineering and electrical engineering from now on, limited to 3 years, one Digital Catalyst (w/m/d) With KIT nova, a unique learning and innovation ecosystem is created at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), which is inspired to do: discover new things, develop prototypes, test and learn from experiences together. Our vision: A house full of projects – from project-based courses to student initiatives to cooperation with industry. At 4,600 m2 we create space for project work, events and a maker space with 3D printing, laser cutters, electronics and metalworking. In the digital field we develop VR trainings, virtual meeting rooms and AI tools.

You take responsibility for the entire digital field of KIT nova – from the strategic conception, through the digital offering to efficient digital operation. Controlling the organisational further development in the digital sector and identifying and implementing new digital initiatives Main address for all digital topics within the team and KIT Development and management of digital offerings for projects such as AI tools, chatbots, cloud credits and avatar-based virtual spaces Supporting digital hardware offerings such as VR/AR glasses, high-performance computers and virtually controlled robot arms Digital integration of prototyping and manufacturing machines of our Makerspace Ensuring smooth digital processes, including compliance with digital standards Conception, construction and management of digital infrastructures such as computers, data collection, databases and website Creating a powerful digital ecosystem for the team – with appropriate tools, presentation technology and end devices

You bring high digital competence, self-initiative and enthusiasm for innovative digital technologies. In addition, you have: a completed master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related subject well-founded experience in the development and support of digital systems in the following areas: at least one programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, PHP), ideally full stack safe handling of Windows and Linux systems Experience with database architectures, data management and API integration and server infrastructure detectable experience in dealing with digital tools / AI tools (e.g. Docker, Git, Cloud platforms, LLM environments, RAG) ideally experiences with VR/AR technologies, Unreal, Unity Willingness to take responsibility for the entire digital field of KIT nova and to develop it proactively continuous training and learning of new digital tools and methods Agile's work and flexibility Passion for work in university context, in particular in support of student projects and the development of innovative solutions fluent English knowledge in word and writing
