Senior Software Developer Payroll Software with AI Focus (m/f/d)

How it goes At Wolter's Kluwer Tax & Accounting we develop the next generation of our cloud lease - a product that tax advisors and companies rely on throughout Germany when it comes to correct salaries, taxes and reports every month. The wage bill is one of the most demanding areas in the German software market: hundreds of wage types, constantly new laws, complex reporting procedures such as DEÜV, ELSTER and DaBPV. That's why we're looking for someone who loves both the code and the expertise and wants to go new ways with modern tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot. Your team You work in a team of developers: inside, business analyst: inside and test automation. We work in common sprints, make regular pair programming and tech demos, and we not only try out AI tools - we actively use them in our everyday development e and we specifically integrate them into our products. Your tasks You translate complex tax and social insurance requirements into robust software solutions and actively contribute your expertise from payroll accounting.

You develop fullstack features with Kotlin and Spring Boot in the backend as well as React in the frontend.

You use AI tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as a solid part of your everyday development and help us to further expand the interaction of AI and crafts.

You will be involved in architectural and design decisions, question constructively and contribute to consistent solutions.

For high quality – with test-driven development, clean code and a look for security issues in web applications.

You're so passionate about it Insufficient experience in the development of wage billing software — You know the complexity of tax classes, social security, wage types and legal requirements.

At least 5 years of experience in full stack development with an object-oriented language (Java, Kotlin or C#) and a modern web framework for the front end (ideally React).

Experience with Spring Boot, interfaces according to REST principle, SQL databases and cloud platforms.

Practical experience or strong interest in AI-based development.

Flowing German and English

would also be Experience with Microservices, Event Sourcing or CQRS.

Experience in cooperation with international teams (we work closely with colleagues in Romania).
