The Bundesinstitut für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung (BBSR) is looking for a ''transformation'' unit in Cottbus at the closest possible time Consultant (m/d) ‘environmental qualities’ Application deadline: 21.05.2025 Duration of employment: unlimited Weekly hours: 39 h/ 41 h, part time possible Remuneration: E 13 TVöD/A 13 BBesO Place of work: Cottbus The Federal Institute for Building, Urban and Spatial Research (BBSR) in the Federal Office for Building and Spatial Planning (BBR) is the departmental research institute of the Federal Office for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) for the areas of urban development, spatial planning, housing and construction. The BBSR also implements a wide range of support and investment programmes in the field of climate protection and urban development. Through inter- and transdisciplinary research, the KRE 1 Transformation Unit supports the regions affected by the coal exit in the design of a climate-friendly transformation process towards sustainable regions with modern economic structures and sustainable spatial and environmental qualities that strengthen social cohesion. It derives recommendations for action for affected cities, communities, civil society actors and planning associations, cooperates with universities and research institutes on scientific questions of spatial transformation and sets its own impulses in terms of a modelling of change in order to create positive prospects for the future. *

Identification, development and implementation of research and development projects in the coal regions addressing the natural resources and environmental qualities of the regions in structural and climate change (such as water, biodiversity, soil and landscape) and contributing to strengthening sustainable transformation ongoing structuring, processing and cross-project linking of current basic knowledge from science and planning and political practice in the German brown coal areas and in the international context in the above-mentioned thematic field, in particular in the form of scientific analyses Working on data set-up, data processing and analysis in the context of ongoing monitoring of the area of environmental data Support and support for the exchange of experience between the brown coal areas (and also at European level) in the field of the topic Answering enquiries, active knowledge transfer and networking with actors from politics, business and science Detection of recommendations for linking scientific knowledge with spatial planning and spatial policy approaches Participation in the evaluation of the funding instruments used, such as the Structural Strengthening Act – Coal Regions and the Just Transition Fund of the EU Development, award and responsible support of specialist extramural research and participation in reports for the Federal Government.

Expected completed academic studies (University Diploma or Master) in the fields of landscape ecology, environmental sciences, forestry, water management, agricultural sciences, landscape planning or a comparable degree in the case of officials, the grade A 13 BBesO with the senior management service. The adjustment is made in the 13 TVöD payment group, as far as the personal requirements are met.** The weekly working hours are 39 hours per week for employees and 41 hours per week for persons under official control. The rules for the East tariff area are applied to the employment relationship. In the event of personal and budgetary conditions, there are opportunities for civil servants to climb up to the grade A 14 BBesO A. Internal tariff workers are advised that the service is only temporarily transferred during the trial period of up to 6 months and that during the trial period no higher grouping takes place, but a supplement is made in accordance with the conditions. § 14 para. 3 TVöD is paid.
