The TIB is a foundation of public law of the Land of Lower Saxony. As a German Central Library of Technology and Natural Sciences, our pioneering services ensure the infrastructural requirements of high-quality information and literature supply for research in science and industry. With the Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG), we work to revolutionize the exchange and use of scientific knowledge in the digital age. The Technical Information Library (TIB), Programme Area C, Research and Development is looking for Open Research Information for the Lab Group as soon as possible:n Academic:n Staff:in (m/w/d) für Forschungsinformationsmanagement – Ontologien, Metadaten und Wissensgraphen The place is limited to 2 years. The regular weekly working time is 39.80 hours (full time). The job is generally suitable for parttime employment. The grouping takes place in the remuneration group 13 TV-L.

The Lab Group Open Research Information of TIB aims to make information on research activities interoperable, trackable, and accessible in open infrastructures. It promotes the development of digital, open and collaborative science and supports scientific institutions and communities by developing and testing methods and software tools useful for research. For the development of the activities of the Open Science Lab in the field of Open Research Information, we are looking for a communicative and entrepreneurial thinking person with a strong background in information science. Develop and implement ontologies in the project “Non- gap integration and after-use KDSF-compliant data for reporting and evaluation – LINK-DAT” funded by the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) to integrate data from research information systems (FIS) and research data management systems (FDMS) semantically and create a consistent, KDSF-compliant knowledge base. Ensure interoperability with the VIVO ontology and the KDSF and help create a verifiable, value-generating and linked information infrastructure for reporting and evaluation. Your activity includes Mapping of metadata schemes and further development and adaptation of ontologies Development and establishment of tools and processes for collaborative ontology management in open source communities Conception and implementation of the evaluation of the artifacts created in the project in the real laboratory together with the project partners Development of requirements for software adaptations and implementation of these adjustments Participation in science communication and presentation and dissemination of project results

You have a completed academic degree (master or comparable) in computer science, library and information science or a related subject or alternatively a completed academic degree (master or comparable) and at least two years of relevant professional experience in metadata schema or ontology development. You have proven experience in metadata modeling, semantic knowledge modeling or ontology engineering. You bring knowledge in dealing with common semantic technologies such as SPARQL or RDF. You have a good understanding of software development processes as well as the ability to act as a conceptual bridge between domain expert:inside and developer. You work independently, reliably and structured with a high degree of self-organization. You have very good English skills in word and writing. Required qualifications You are excited to meet engineers:inside and at eye level, to raise requirements and to translate them into semantically clean, interoperable solutions. You have knowledge of the research information landscape including common standards such as KDSF and CERIF as well as significant digital science infrastructures in this field. You bring knowledge in programming, preferably Java and Python. You have the ability to conceptualise technical systems such as research information systems, electronic laboratory journals or knowledge graphs. You have knowledge in handling version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows. You bring interest in the work in a research and library environment. You are ready to participate in national and global (open source) communities. You have good knowledge of German in word and writing.
