The solution of social policy tasks requires courage and creativity. Convince us of both. The Bertelsmann Foundation is one of the largest operational foundations in Europe. It is a non-profit organization that is engaged in the tradition of its founder Reinhard Mohn for a sustainable society. For the transformation to a sustainable, resilient and competitive market economy, public acceptance is indispensable. In the long term, there is a broad social unity in the fundamental issue that a sustainable transformation of our economy is necessary. Controversy is being discussed on how the change should be politically directed and shaped. But where are the preferences and expectations of people in Germany? Our project provides a picture of the social perspective on sustainability transformation in Germany. Together with our partner, the Forschungsinstitut für Sustainability | at the GFZ (RIFS), we conduct a comprehensive annual panel survey on attitudes, reservations and expectations of the German population in the context of sustainability transformation. The focus of the content is on the energy, transport and heat transition sectors, as this is precisely where sustainable change and the corresponding political measures affect people in their immediate life.
