Number: MER0003ZZ3 Here comes color into play! Our team “Development of decorative materials” is responsible for developing, releasing and qualifying all colors for Mercedes-Benz cars in coordination with design, suppliers and production sites. Whether colour on the body, plastic parts, wheels or other exterior components: we bring the colour to the vehicle and provide an optical image that fascinates the customers. Our team consists of 11 friendly employees who are looking forward to your support. We are looking for you as a reinforcement for our exciting projects and as part of a working student activity, we offer you to work on different topics independently and in full. The tasks in detail: Checking the standard quality of body top finishes using technical-mechanical testing (new developments, quality assurance and requalification worldwide)

Evaluating surface damage on painted metal substrates with the help of digital image processing

Testing of wheel coatings

Documentation of test results, reporting and archiving of results in databases

Approval tests decorative parts

Cooperation in the team Corrosion Testing Center/ Testing Process (evaluation of Corrosion Damage)

Testing of the resistance of sheet metal after external weathering

Support of team members

The activity can begin from September 2026 and should take desirable 6 months.

Ideally studied in the field of chemical engineering or chemistry

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Safe handling of MS Office

Commitment and team skills

Analytical thinking and strategic working

Car driver's license
