Number: MER0003KIN In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we design the automotive generations of the future. The development of the RD/KIS area is part of the series development and researches on cross-series questions for future product generations. The development always takes place with the aim of ensuring the highest customer value with respect to ergonomics, function, comfort, value-adjustment, quality, costs, weight and sustainability. In addition to various innovations, a special focus is on the development of sustainability in order to contribute to the implementation of the “Ambition 2039”. An important aspect is therefore the increase in resource conservation by, for example, returning waste materials to the material cycle. In order to implement this circular economic approach, material concepts must be compared in order to design components in future with regard to CO2 and their recycling capability.
