The Catholic Clinic Bochum is a hospital network of maximum care and ten facilities. At the six locations St. Josef-Hospital, St. Elisabeth-Hospital, St. Maria-Hilf-Krankenhaus, Marien-Hospital Wattenscheid, Martin-Luther-Krankenhaus and the Klinik Blankenstein with a total of 1,570 beds, we provide more than 240,000 stationary and outpatient patients from the entire region each year. In our clinic network, 6,000 employees combine top medicine and research. Our Clinic for Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a state-of-the-art, high-performance department with 49 beds, including 29 beds in gynecology and 20 beds in child care. Together with the neonatology of the University Children's Hospital, we operate a certified Perinatal Centre Level 1 and thus ensure the highest level of medical care. A special focus of childbirth care is on the professional care of risk and multi-parent pregnancy and early births. With 1.665 births annually, we have great experience and competence. The support ranges from prenatal diagnostics to the birth to the weekly bed service in close cooperation with interdisciplinary partners and individual care in the classical Kreißsaal and the Hebammenkreißsaal. A very family-oriented birth aid is operated. The department is certified as 'Baby-friendly hospital'.

The gynecological focus of the clinic lies in the treatment of tumors and the benign proliferative diseases such as myomas and endometriosis, preferably endoscopic surgical techniques. A further focus is on Urogynecology and Basin Floor Surgery in Genitaldescensus as well as urinary and analinary incontinence (the latter in close cooperation with the Department of Colosophtology in the House).
