The Corporate IT (CIT) of Carl Zeiss AG is responsible for IT for all business areas of ZEISS. The diversity of the ZEISS portfolio has an exciting complexity. This is why we are looking for a system engineer virtual infrastructure operations (m/w/x). Your duties You will be part of an operating team in the ZEISS Group function IT, which is responsible for ensuring the operation of central or networked IT systems.

The focus of your task field is the administrative system support and further development of virtual server infrastructures.

You are generally responsible for the smooth operation of critical server infrastructure components.

You analyse expansion possibilities in the virtual server environment and drive their implementation forward.

In coordination with the team leader, you ensure that these systems meet the requirements for availability and performance.

You will set up IT infrastructure solutions that come from new requirements and translate them into regular operations.

You actively analyze errors and disturbances and drive their fixation according to SLA.

In this context, you work with the operating support teams within the entire ZEISS Group.

As part of a readiness to call, you will ensure 7x24 operation alternately with several colleagues.

Successfully completed training as a specialist in system integration or similar and experience in system support of virtual IT infrastructures

Knowledge in the operation and construction of private VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) infrastructures

Knowledge of virtual server solutions and implementation and planning of distributed VCF workload domains and ESX clusters

Ideally knowledge of the integration of storage systems (SAN, vSAN, NAS) into the VMware infrastructure

Ideal knowledge of network technologies (especially VMware NSX)

Knowledge of the use and configuration of VMware Private AI Foundation

Knowledge of current server operating systems (Linux, Microsoft) as well as in general datacenter technologies desirable

High customer-oriented thinking and working methods, strong support understanding and organizational ability

A safe occurrence and associated own initiative

Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
