Laboratory IT Specialist (m/f/d)

As a central IT contact for the scientific laboratory areas, you are responsible for the support around laboratory computers, specialist applications and their connection to analysis equipment: Own-sponsored analysis and solution of complex IT problems at laboratory workstations and machine-based IT systems Technical advice on IT solutions and digitalization in laboratory operation Support in the procurement of new laboratory equipment (IT connection, network, security) Independent management of IT subprojects in the laboratory (software launches, migrations, digitization) Integration of laboratory software into the institute-wide infrastructure (AD, GPO, network, license server) and automation of software distribution via Matrix42 Empirum Coordination with international software and device manufacturers incl. Escalation management Conception of user training and building a knowledge database for laboratory IT topics

completed study of computer science (Bachelor) or comparable qualification; as an alternative to training as a specialist (m/w/d) for system integration with several years of relevant professional experience At least 3 years of professional experience in IT support for scientific or technical environments Experience with scientific application software (e.g. FCS Express, SoftMax Pro, FlowJo, SnapGene, GraphPad Prism, UNICORN, LabArchives etc.) Very good knowledge of the analysis and elimination of interface problems between IT, software and devices (USB, COM/Serial, GPIB/IEEE-488, Ethernet) Very good knowledge in Microsoft Windows client environments, including the care of old systems Experience in the independent management of subprojects and in the coordination of external service providers Experience with ticket systems, ideally Matrix42 German knowledge at least C1 and English knowledge at least B1 Remarkable Experience with requirements analysis and the creation of obligations Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and License Servers Scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python as well as basic knowledge of SQL/MySQL Experience with IT migration projects Personal strengths Self-employed, careful and responsible work Representative consulting skills and service-oriented handling of scientific departments Structured, solution-oriented and methodological approach to complex technical problems Good communication and coordination skills in dealing with internal and external contacts (m/w/d)
