Physics engineer 36 months of temporary employment contract Your mission The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble (France) is a leading international research centre in neutron research across Europe. Every year, more than 2000 visiting scientists conduct experiments in very different areas. As a member of the team responsible for the equipment with which samples are exposed to extreme conditions, you participate in the development of new equipment for the application of very high pressure at cryogenic temperatures.

You will find:

• strengthen a dynamic team specializing in extreme sample environments for neutron research • propose, design and simulate technical solutions based on materials with optimized properties using the finite element method • contribute to the development of the in situ pressure measurement with fluorescence in a cryostat or a dilution insert • contribute to the assembly, qualification and use of equipment with neutron beams.

• Physics engineer with a first professional experience in instrumentation. • They have an interest in material science, optics and refrigeration technology. • You want to acquire skills in various highly specialized areas. • Good English in word and writing is assumed. • French knowledge would be beneficial or You must be ready to learn French (a language course is funded by the ILL).
