The Foundation of Cellitinnen is a modern healthcare and nursing company with 13 hospitals, private and specialist clinics, 38 senior hospitals as well as 34 other healthcare facilities and services, focusing on North Rhine-Westphalia. The foundation is located in Cologne-Longerich. The Cellitinnen-Krankenhaus St. Peter is an academic teaching hospital at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf with currently about 600 employees and 520 stationary beds. Together with a collaborative hospital in Wuppertal, the St. Peter Hospital offers an 800-bed structure. Thorax surgery provides both locations in Wuppertal as an independent specialist department and is the operative part of the Wuppertal Lungenzentrum. It consists of independent clinics for pneumology, oncology and thorax surgery, as well as the home-based partner Quartz with radiology and radiotherapy. Thorax surgery is available for 10 beds at the normal station and a demand-oriented quota of intensive and IMC beds. In our intensive care unit, all ventilation options, including ECMO, are available. The entire spectrum of thorax surgery including parenchym-saving cuff resections and angioplastics is offered, anatomical resections in cooperation at the site of our thorax surgeon in Wuppertal. One focus is minimally invasive surgery (including uniportal and non-intubated), also under ECMO. A large proportion of planned re-intakes underlines the established and supra-regional catchment area.
