ZEISS Microoptics is a unit of the Photonics & Optics strategic business unit specializing in the development, optimization, mastering, replication and integration of optical applications based on micro-optical and holographic optical elements.

Your role As an application engineer with a focus on hardware development (m/w/x) at Zeiss, you are part of a fast-growing team dedicated to the development of disruptive technologies. In your function, you are responsible for the development and implementation of innovative hardware solutions for automation systems that offer our customers superior value. Here you will: E-Planning, including schematic design and system design, using E-Plan apply knowledge in control programming, in particular for Beckhoff controllers Care of complex HOE replication systems in the industrial environment Leading component of the overall process development (HOE replication) and the associated machine production process of HOEs Support in the commissioning of systems and troubleshooting on site with the customer Support and advise customers in the implementation and use of our hardware solutions If you love the challenge of acting in a complex environment and implementing industrial solutions in a novel context, you are right with us.

Complete university degree in electrical engineering, automation technology or a related field or have comparable practical experience Knowledge of hardware development and control programming, especially for Beckhoff controllers experience in e-planning, including schematic design and system design, with E-plan Good knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Python and IEC 61131 Strategic thinking, planning skills and the ability to motivation of team members A service- and solution-oriented operation combined with a sense of decision and a high sense of responsibility Embossed communication skills in German and English associated with high readiness for global travel activities for local visits to our (international) customers
