System-related target and task analysis and formulation of specific requirements for the design of the human system interaction. Analysis and prospective interpretation of sociocognitive requirements (situation awareness, decision-making, team work) for effective system-based tasks. Analysis and assessment of human reliability (HRA) and system safety (PSA). deriving and developing suitable socio-technical measures to increase human reliability and to ensure system protection/system security. Ergonomic design of a working prototype for the human system interface. deriving necessary skills for effective system use (upskilling); content-methodic design and implementation of appropriate training measures. Preparation and implementation of the evaluation of the entire system design concept with human subjects. Scientific Qualification/ Promotion

Insufficient completed studies (Diplom [Uni] or Master) e.g. work psychology with focus on human factors/cognitive ergonomics and system design, computer science with focus on human-system interaction (HCI) or industrial engineering. Very good knowledge of empirical research methods (quantitative and qualitative). Proven knowledge of methods in the field of human factors and ergonomics, in particular methods of analysis of requirements and tasks, design of tasks and evaluation of HMI/HSI. Ideally, knowledge and strong interest in human reliability analysis and system security and the relevant methods (e.g. CAHR, CREAM, FRAM, STAMP/STPA). Experience in the design and production of scientific publications. readiness to travel in Germany and abroad. Physical fitness to build laboratories and carry out field studies (on ships) Ability and motivation for proactive, independent working, problem-solving and self-initiative – team skills and open communication Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Remarkable are: Interest in questions in the maritime context (sea shipping, maritime logistics). First experiences or strong interest in programming user interfaces/man-machine interfaces (user interfaces). Experience or Ready to work interdisciplinary.
