To strengthen our central Team Enterprise Architecture & Innovation in the company IT in Oberkochen, Munich or Jena, we are looking for an experienced enterprise architect that covers one or more EA domains at ZEISS. In this role you give orientation, introduce your architectural expertise and take responsibility within the EAM (Enterprise Architecture Managements) of the Carl ZEISS Group. Development of the Enterprise Architecture Domain “AI”. You create a comprehensive target architecture vision and are relevant to the business requirements and the traditional EAM approach.

In your key role as an AI Enterprise architect, you plan, moderate and document workshops with IT, architecture and business to analyse the targeted use of AI to support the business strategies and market opportunities of the ZEISS chips. You identify transformation potentials for processes, organization and technology and implement business-use cases as well as strategic ideas into specific AI capabilities and architecture designs.

You drive the identification and evaluation of new technologies (e.g. Agentic AI, Edge AI), support the disciplines in designing their digital agenda and play a key role in defining the AI architecture and selecting suitable technologies from a pool of open source and commercial offerings.

You act as a “Trusted Advisor”, which not only addresses specific requirements, but laterally represents a technically oriented link for Solution Architects and advises colleagues in process questions.

Together with the Enterprise Architecture Team, you take responsibility for the governance of architectural decisions via various divisions and represent architectural concepts in company-wide architecture companies.

completed studies in computer science or business informatics or comparable qualifications

strong professional experience in the enterprise environment as well as sound knowledge in the AI and/or cloud environment

successful application of EAM targets, in particular methods and tools for architectural and process documentation (e.g. LeanIX, Archimate, Signavio)

high technical affinity paired with pronounced analytical and conceptual skills for the structured solution of problems

extensive methodological knowledge and experience in architectural consulting together with very good presentation and communication skills in German and English

Certificates in TOGAF, SAFe are advantageous
