The Technical Division (TD) is the technical centrepiece of the HPA with more than 600 employees. As an expert in technical port infrastructure, we provide reliable, economical and innovative services in partnership with our customers. In our infrastructure projects, areas are developed, dikes are adapted and sophisticated earth-building measures are implemented. Right here you bring your technical strength.

Our heart beats for the Port of Hamburg, which connects us! You work in infrastructure projects of the Port of Hamburg and contribute your expertise in the fields of earth construction, flood protection, dike construction or waste management. You develop technical and economic solutions for earth-building measures and for the further development and adaptation of flood protection systems and ponds. With contaminated soils and waste loads, you can safely handle and develop practical concepts for soil management and project processes. Building-ground and environmental studies will help you to test and guide requirements for planning and construction. Together with planning offices, reviewers and construction companies, you control the technical topics in the project and ensure successful implementation. You participate in tenders, awards and the management of external contractors and represent the interests of HPA. From planning to implementation, you accompany the design and ensure compliance with quality, dates and costs. In exchange with internal and external project participants, you can understand your topics and develop sustainable solutions together.

You have a completed degree (Master or Diploma) in civil engineering, in environmental or waste management technology, geosciences or a comparable engineering discipline. Experience in infrastructure, earth or civil engineering projects as well as a sound understanding of geotechnical contexts characterize you. Ideally, you have knowledge in flood protection, pond construction, soil management or in dealing with old loads. First experiences in the building control, construction monitoring or project control are ideally brought along. Rules, technical standards as well as basic building and procurement law are used safely. You work structured, independent and solution-oriented. When dealing with contractors, planning offices and other project participants, you convince by a safe occurrence and clear communication. Also in complex voting processes, you keep an overview and introduce your topics to the address.
