Career changer as a train driver

As a driver, you are responsible for the safe operation of the vehicles and the timely transport of the passengers. As of 1 January 2027, we are looking for you as a cross-releaser:in (w/m/d) for DB Regio AG at the Osterburken site. In the approximately 10-12-month internal retraining at the training site Mannheim we prepare you for your job entry. During your functional training, cross-incomeers:in a locomotive guide, you will receive an adjusted entry level. After successful completion of the training, your salary will be increased to the entry level of the target activity. The corresponding annual gross salary* is currently between: 50,000 and 55,000 EUR This is what awaits you in retraining:

Retraining takes place in full-time (39 hours/week) and consists of theoretical and practical classes The theoretical teaching takes place at the Mannheim site, your practice assignments take place as close to your home as possible The training classes consist of about 15 participants At your future site you will gain practical experience and knowledge of the route You get a modern training, including using simulators and tablets With successful completion of the final exams, you will qualify for independent driving of locomotive and drive vehicles

After your retraining, you take the following activities:

Make sure our travelers reach their destination safely, on time and conveniently The safety-relevant equipment and technical capabilities of the drive vehicles as well as the cleanliness and order in the interior are within your competence You are happy to meet expert decisions and take responsibility for people and vehicles If there are deviations in the driving mode, you will ensure the passenger information and make a significant contribution to a high service quality Also difficult customers:inside you will be patient and a friendly smile

Your profile:

You have completed your 20th year, and you have proven that you have completed a school degree and a successfully completed vocational training, preferably in the technical field with Ready to work in irregular shifts (night shift, holiday and weekend work, with daily different working hours) You have good to very good German skills (C1 level) Learning, reliability and commitment are of course for you With a current excerpt from the driver's register, you can prove that you participate reliably in the traffic (points are not a basic exclusion criterion) You are ready to demonstrate your medical and psychological suitability (examination takes place during the selection process by a medical examination)
